JESUS CHRIST AND SALVATION SUMMARY PART 1.
In this summary, the concept of Jesus Christ and salvation is seen. I believe in the importance of the doctrine of humanity, because it shows that a human is the highest creature created by God and it shows some of His work on the universe and of course, of God Himself, because learning takes place about His nature and of Him as the Creator, when seeing what He has created! And of course, when seeing the Person of Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, as He reveals Himself to man, after he is converted, or turns to God, is justified, or proclaimed ‘not guilty’, and is regenerated, or has a ‘new-birth’ or is ‘born-again’, then man can learn a lot about God and of His awesomeness and how Man is just a mere creature of His! Now turning to Jesus our Savior, He made His appearance on earth approximately 2000 years ago: He was God in human flesh (John 1: 1, 14). Israel, at that time, was able to see Him visibly, He dwelt amongst men. He showed the real nature of God; He showed what it was to be ‘man created by God in His own image’ (Genesis 1: 27), how man was to behave as a representative of God! He was the ultimate reflection of God! And He was the promised Redeemer due to Man’s sin and Fall.
I hold to the view that a human is made up of three elements: the body, the soul and the spirit as found in 1 Thessalonians 5: 23 and that they cannot live one without the other. Because of the Fall of Man, sin entered the world. So before a Man has a conversion, his spirit is in darkness, his soul has sinned and is in darkness and his body succumbs at one point or another to the temptations and sicknesses imposed by the powers of darkness in the world. When he gets saved, that is, he has a conversion, justification and regeneration he is pronounced ‘not guilty’ and his spirit becomes alive to His Spirit; and his body can now fight against the attacks of the powers of darkness in the world! When there is a psychosomatic condition in a person, it usually is because body, soul and spirit are not in equilibrium and their spiritual condition cannot be dealt with independently of their physical and psychological condition and vice versa.
Scriptures are the ones that provide the best understanding of the nature of sin. In Genesis 3 we see the Fall of Man taking place. Both Adam and Eve took an evil action that was in opposition to what was in order with God! So from here comes the need for Man’s redemption and God has already set in motion the coming forth of the Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ! ( Genesis 3: 15). So sin in any amount will distance a person from God. Everyone is accountable at some point in their lives. And the good news is that if a person believes in the Lord Jesus as having died and risen again on the third day , and repents of his sins, that is, turns to God, he will be saved.
