CELEBRATIONS?

God calls us to celebrate not for tradition’s sake but for spiritual reasons. We are to be thankful for the great grace and His merciful forgiveness. Luke 15:24. In this time of celebrating, we should think of all those things, small and large, that the Lord Jesus has done for us since last year! We should thank Him even if we have done so already and even more if we have not!

Celebrations such as Easter are a good time to spend with family, showing the light of Jesus amongst them, where dinners and sharing in spiritual experiences is a good thing! Jesus Himself, during His ministry participated in celebrations! We see it clearly in John 2, where He attended a wedding with the disciples, and that’s where He turned the water into wine, the first sign of the beginning of His ministry with miracles! We see feasts such as Passover and Easter, which we are celebrating at this moment, in which we remember God’s special ways with us. In both feast we celebrate the many great miracles God did for us ! So if we celebrate with the right attitude, to remember the many blessings God has bestowed upon us, and to show His love to others who might not have found it yet, then we are to celebrate!

And of course, the greatest thing we should remember and celebrate with thanksgiving to God is for sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die at the cross by shedding His blood for the forgiveness of our sins! We are to be thankful to Jesus for having taken the ultimate act of obedience, His death! “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15: 56-57. But He rose from the dead on the third day!

THANK YOU, LORD

Thank You Lord
That we can celebrate this season with joy!
Remind us that while we pray
We should be giving thanks! FOR YOU ARE RISEN FROM DEATH!
“But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6.
