DIFFERENT KINDS OF TONGUES!

According to Dr. Jack Hayford in his book, ‘The Beauty of Spiritual Language’, Chapter 8, there are three important benefits that are imparted to the believer through the gift of tongues: one is edifying the soul; second is distinct communication and third is solving mysteries.

In 1 Corinthians 14:4 it says: “The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself.” Therefore when we need to become energized as we have become drained by daily duties, and we still need to move on in our daily walk, here it says we should speak in tongues! It is just uttering with our mouths the sounds that are coming through our spirit, at the prompting of the Spirit!

The second benefit, distinct communication, it says in 1 Corinthians 14:2: “For one who speaks in tongues speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.” In other words, this is an easy way of communicating with God and we can do it speaking, singing or praying , all done to talk to God!

And the third benefit is solving mysteries: for example some things come to our remembrance from our past which the Spirit brings up in order to have healing! And this takes place after we pray in tongues! The Holy Spirit can also give impressions and promptings in order to bring reminders and healings! It seems that most theologians believe that every believer can have the gift of speaking in a tongue, which is a gift of the Holy Spirit, since it appears that this is a sign of being baptized in the Holy Spirit which all believers are! This goes with the Scripture regarding the day of Pentecost, Acts 2:4: “ And they all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Vit hava nú brúk fyri at fáa eina endurfødda uppliving fyri at hava eitt samband við Hann!

at úthella blóð títt til fyrigeving syndanna mína ;
Og reis upp aftur triðja dagin!
Eg veit, at eg eri ein syndari. Vinarliga fyrigev mær syndir mínar;
Vinarliga kom inn í mítt hjarta!
Kom og ver mín frelsari og Harri í mínum lívi!
Takk fyri Jesus”
