Women holding jobs in the workforce!

Regarding women holding jobs that traditionally have been thought as male jobs: these women are thought as masculine as opposed to feminine, tough, cold and shrewd, someone not to be trusted because they have a mind like a man’s. But the Word says: “Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11. He is speaking to believers, both male and female: for both genders that are in Christ, have the mind of Christ: “For ‘ who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him’? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16.

God says He shows no preferences among people, so why should He show it between male and female? “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” Acts 10:34-35. Of course, we are to submit to one another and be like Jesus in that…”He made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:7.

Questions about a women’s femineity rise up as for example when we see policewomen, firefighter women, women in the pulpit, women in science and technology, in entertainment or women in high positions of politics. We see them as the butt of jokes, sometimes funny sometimes not so funny! I think this shows how much tradition still exists even in free-thinking countries like the United States about women’s role in society. But in Jesus we see the most broadminded Person in His views about women’s role! He has always been supercool! Still, overall, we have moved in long strides since past times!

And whether male or female, God has anointed us to go into all the world, with Jesus in us, to bring hope in a darkened world “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. Colossians 1:27. The world lives in a state of hopelessness: so if a woman, with Jesus in her, can go and shine the light of God and show that hope is in Jesus, that He is the Savior, Help, Redeemer, then hooray for her! He is our hope (1 Timothy 1:1), wherever there are women or men in the workforce burning with the fire of the Holy Spirit!
