SITTING AT HIS FEET: HOW ARE WE TO CIRCUMCISE OUR HEARTS TO THE LORD?

Jesus says it is not what we put through our mouth, that is food, that defiles us but what comes out of our mouths since it proceeds from the heart! He goes on to say that from the heart comes, if we allow the soil of the heart to hold such things, evil thoughts, murders, sexual immorality, thefts, false witness, slander ( Matthew 15:17-20).

So how are we to keep the soil of our heart holding right things in the sight of God? In Jeremiah 4:3-4 the Lord says: “Break up your fallow ground and sow not among thorns. Circumcise yourselves , love the Lord; remove the foreskin of your hearts.” Fallow ground, in agricultural terms means soil that has been turned and the weeds, rocks and thorns growing around have been broken off. And it hasn’t been seeded yet. So we are to, spiritually speaking, remove and break off all the weeds and rocks of evil thoughts, such as rapes, hates, thefts, slanders, jealousies, lifting up of idols that rise up in our heart and then prepare our hearts by seeking the Lord so that we can sow in turn, seeds of good thoughts, love, honesty, purity and so on.

So every evil weed and thorn that appears on the ground of our heart we are to remove and replace it with just the opposite righteous seed! That way, we remove the foreskin that appears in our hearts and thus circumcise ourselves to the Lord! Thus we may seek the Lord so that He may rain righteousness upon us. ( Hosea 10:12). And the fruit of the rain of the Spirit is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self -control.” Galatians 5:22. That should be what we are all about!

খ্ৰীষ্টান ইতিহাসৰ বিকাশৰ লগে লগে ‘যীচু’ নামটোক ‘যাহৱেহ পৰিত্ৰাণ’ বুলি জনা গৈছিল। পুৰণি নিয়মৰ প্ৰভু, মুক্তিদাতা, মুক্তিদাতা, ঈশ্বৰৰ ধাৰণাসমূহৰ পৰা এই অৰ্থসমূহ যীচুলৈ স্থানান্তৰিত হৈছিল আৰু খ্ৰীষ্টানসকলে তেওঁক কেনেকৈ বিশ্বাস কৰিছিল। ১ অৱশ্যেই, পিছলৈ আমি এতিয়া যীচুক পাপ আৰু আধ্যাত্মিক অন্ধকাৰৰ পৰা মুক্তিদাতা আৰু মুক্তিদাতা হিচাপে দেখিবলৈ পাওঁ, যিয়ে আমাৰ পাপৰ মূল্য দিবলৈ ক্ৰুচত তেজ বোৱাইছিল, যদি আমি বিশ্বাস কৰোঁ! আৰু যে তেওঁ হৈছে ঈশ্বৰৰ একমাত্ৰ পথ! তেতিয়া তেওঁ আমাৰ ত্ৰাণকৰ্তা!
