NATURE: THE HANDIWORK OF GOD!

According to Erickson, one of the ways of general revelation of God to us is nature! And according to the apostle Paul in Romans 1:20 it says, “ Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and Deity has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So we are without excuse.” In other words we can’t say that God hasn’t revealed Himself to us through nature, His creation! As for example what’s in the heavens like the Sun, moon, planets, constellation or what’s in the earth like the oceans, the mountains, the grass, the flowers , to name a few, and the beasts which all show a Deity Designer with perfection and diversity!

So we really are without excuse to say that God doesn’t show His handiwork! In Psalm 19:1 it says: “ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” This was King David expressing His awe at the Majesty of God. Erickson says:1 “So this shows that God has left evidence of Himself in the world He has created…the person who views the beauty of a sunset and the biology student dissecting a complex organism are exposed to indications of God’s greatness.”

It is a good thing that God took the road of the cross to make Himself clearer to some of us that are hard-headed! And even so, some continue in their stubbornness! “Listen to Me, you stubborn-hearted…My salvation shall not linger.” Isaiah 46: 12-13.
