CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST…

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20.

At the beginning of my journey with the Lord I went to a Bible class at church and they were passing a bucket with strips of paper where a verse of Scripture was typed! We were to pick one up! The one I picked was the verse above. We were to memorize it until it became part of our spirit, the teacher said.

I had always had a hard time memorizing a written text, but I tried it a few times. Within a few days of repeating it to myself, I was able to memorize it! Then I forgot about it. A few years later, I was going in a tour with my church to the Holy Land! Just as I was about getting off the plane, that verse came to my spirit loud and clear!

I thought ‘well what does this mean?’. As I pondered about it, I thought it meant it that the Lord Jesus was going to be my guide and nothing of my own doing or saying! For the next few days I was paying attention to what was coming out of my mouth and the places we were visiting and the new acquaintances!

When we left, about 10 days later, I meditated on what had gone during the trip to see if I could discern the Lord’s doings and sayings! I did see that it had been all the Lor’s guidance as I tried to keep quiet most of the time! It had been a good trip and I had enjoyed it to the fullest! One day as I was taking a nap I had had a dream that a bomb was thrown at me and I had been melting! I did remember that the pastor had said we were going to change the itinerary some for that afternoon!

That verse has come to my spirit a few times during my journey with the Lord and I take it as an alert, to pay attention to what the Lord is doing for the next few hours or days! I have learned other verses that are in my spirit mainly put in there through songs from the Psalms! But the one above is the one that really shows up at times in my spirit!
