FORGIVING?

I have been learning a lot about relationships from watching my kittens! One of them is about forgiving our parents and ex. I was watching them, as I was talking out loud what I would write on this blog about forgiveness! I spoke out loud about the need to forgive our parents, in their case their father, who had left even before they were born! They were listening! And even their mother had to forgive her ex.

He comes around every day, twice a day, with his partner, because he knows I will feed them, but I know he likes to bond with his kids and mother of the kids! Even if he doesn’t come in, but he socializes with them through the screen door! I know in his heart he knows the mother, his ex, has taken good care of them and they are fine! He loves all of them, including the mother: he is just a wild cat who likes the streets!

Even the mother is learning to let go of him in order to start a bond with another domestic cat, which I brought to the house about 2 months ago! She had to forgive too! She had been through big time depression, as all she wanted to do was sleep! And it has been hard for all of them to adjust, but they are forgiving, moving on, even the father! Now even the kids are accepting the new cat as their new stepdad!

I learned in a class called ‘Emotional Healing’ taught by Dr. Leah Coulter, that in forgiveness there is the dimension of rebuking, repenting and forgiving, as is shown clearly in Luke 17:3 where it says: “If your brother sins against you, rebuke him and if he repents, forgive him.”
