PRAYING WITH THE UNDERSTANDING AND PRAYING WITH THE SPIRIT (1 CORINTHIANS 14:15) DURING THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON!

The last couple of nights I have woken up at about 2:30 a.m.! I toss and turn trying to go back to sleep but to no avail. So I read a chapter of the New Testament and a chapter of the Old Testament. Still awake! So I watch a TV show. To no avail . Then I watch the news.

I remember the words spoken by Jack Hayford during a service: He would be awaken by the Lord about 3:00 a.m. every morning so that he would pray! Then it clicked: ‘I’m supposed to pray!’ I know the Lord answers my prayers, when I pray for others, but I feel so overwhelmed by life that I barely pray!

So I decided to pray with the spirit: then I remembered that my brother and wife are traveling; my neighbors also! So I pray with the understanding ‘give them protection and safety!’ And I keep praying with the spirit: and then I pray protection and safety on all those areas where massacres are occurring around the world; healing and miracles for myself and all those in the church and also the elderly; to keep children safe from evildoers! Then I keep praying with the Spirit for I don’t know what to pray for but the Spirit does ! “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…” Ephesians 6:18.

This is the season we celebrate Jesus Christ’s birthday, that it is all about Him, that we are to worship Him and Him alone! We are to stay tuned to His heart so we’ll have the joy of the Lord which is our strength, while we live in a dangerous world! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!
We are not to waste our time! We are ‘to watch and pray’! Matthew 26:41
