GOD AND HIS REVELATION SUMMARY, PART 3.
As for creation, God’s creation and its history were all planned by God’s sovereign will and ‘it was very good’. Of course, God gives each of His creatures a free-will to make their own choices but there are those that become His friends. In other words those that yield their wills to God’s will, as Jesus so clearly showed when He was agonizing about His near trial and crucifixion (Matthew 26:39). As for creation itself, that is, the Universe with stars, sun, moons, flora, fauna, planets, oceans, the earth and Man, I believe it was all planned and designed by God, very orderly and not at random! As for it happening on seven days, made up of twenty-four hours per day, I believe each day of creation is an epoch of time, could be millions of years, as in Hebrew yom(day) can imply both an era or twenty four day! And by present day scientific findings it seems to imply on an epoch of time! So God has the ultimate say on the plans for the Universe with all its creation, even though particular events unfold as God and His friends, decide what needs to be done, depending on the outcry of His people. And at a personal level, each believer should seek God’s face for His plans in their lives.
As for God’s providence in preserving and guiding His creation, I believe that God has continued His work in the Universe by being its Great Provider, by preserving and guiding His creation to His intended purposes! His providence as preservation is seen in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the Old Testament we see an example in Genesis 15: 18-19. In the New Testament we see it in Matthew 6: 25-34. As for His guidance, He is seen controlling nature, e.g., Mark 4:39; also guiding the animal creation, e.g., 1 Kings 17:4; also guiding human history and destiny of the nations, e.g., Daniel 2:21 . God is also sovereign provider in the circumstances of the lives of individual persons ,e.g., Luke 1: 52. It appears from Scripture that in many cases God works in a kind of partnership with humans. God does not act if humans do not play their part, as for example is by praying and seeking His face.
