MAN IS MADE IN IMAGE OF GOD, PART 2.

Dr. Jack Hayford wrote “that one of the primary issues that the Bible addresses concerning the history of earth and Man is “redemption , that is, how man, created in the image of God, fell from grace and how God in His grace provided a plan to bring about his recovery.” 1 So I see how man created in God’s image fell from grace: this could show that it is the material or physical nature of man which stirs and caused and still causes man to fall into sin. Which is different from God’s embodiment by a supernatural matter!

Millard J. Erickson states that the “Christian view of humanity holds that a human being is a creature of God, made in the image of God.” 2 He also says that “the image of God in humanity is critical to our understanding of what makes us human. So we must reach our conclusions about the image of God by making inferences from the Biblical data and it should set the parameters for our view of all humanity.” 3So I believe that it follows that even though humans are made in the image of God, humans can never be God! Humans who try to tinker with DNA in order to bring forth a human being will never succeed! There are limits in human’s creativity as compared to God’s, and this is good! God alone can create the universe with all planets, sun, galaxies, stars. And specially a human being and all the creatures He created in the seven days of creation, which I believe are seven epochs of time!

Dr. Raymond Gannon, says that “one of the major purposes for man on the earth was to reflect the image of God. That God wanted a being to mirror or bear His own likeness: man would be a reflection of God, a representative.”4 It says in Genesis 1: 27,31: “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him…and , behold, it was very good.” I feel it follows, that as a reflector or representative of God, he would be His creation, he would not be another God! Man would not have the ability to create another human, even though in contemporary times it is seen some trying to form the DNA in order that it would give a superhuman! Still, man only has access to what matter is already there, to what God has already placed in the universe!
