GOD DOES NOT LIKE DEPRAVITY!
In Genesis 18-19, in the Old Testament, we see the Lord Jesus walking with Abraham and two angels looking towards Sodom and Gomorrah! He had heard the outcry of the people due to the depravity existing there at that time. Abraham tried to intercede so that the Lord wouldn’t judge, but they fell short. He then sent the two angels who took Lot, Abraham’s nephew, out with his daughters. The judgment came to those cities, both destroyed!
The Lord God is a pure God. He can’t stand depravity or lawlessness ! According to Erickson 1, because He has attributes of goodness as well as greatness,He can be trusted and loved, where His characteristics as a moral being show up and which are: “Moral purity which includes the dimension of a)holiness, b)righteousness and c)justice.”
In 2 Thessalonians 2:7, in the New Testament, it says: “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work;,,,and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” Today we are living in the days just before His coming! We see lawlessness everywhere we go!
So our only chance is believing in the Lord Jesus, repenting of our sins so He will save us and become Lord of our lives! Satan has been defeated at the cross!
