THANKSGIVING

We live in a thankless society. I know at the beginning of my journey, I heard quite frequently that we were to give thanks in everything. Some might say, ‘How is this possible? Even while we are going through trials and tribulations? This seems impossible!’ But the following Scripture supports the idea of being thankful, that this is the will of God, “ Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18.

I did learn to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who lent a helping hand on my way, and I realized that I had always thought that every good thing that came my way I deserved it! I had found it hard to say ‘thank you!’ But as I matured I found out that saying ‘thank you’ came easily out of my mouth , whether to God or people! And I even think that sometimes I wasn’t supposed to say it. At least to some people😊

Another Scripture that talks about giving thanks to God is Psalm 100:4-5: “ Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into Hs courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.” It shows it is good to give thanks to God and to bless His name always! It does bring gladness and rejoicing to our hearts!
