JESUS: BODY, SOUL, AND SPIRIT COMPLETELY DIVINE,PART 3.
I believe that He had a sinless human-like body that had most of a regular person’s physical experiences and He had a divine sinless soul with a divine spirit. I believe that Jesus was fully divine including His physical body. Because He was tested in all ways as a regular human and He who knew no sin took humanity’s sin at the cross, He was able to be our Redeemer! “ For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5: 21). So I believe that Christ has a completely divine nature united in one person with the body, soul and spirit all being divine! According to Dr. Patricia Meade-Marr3, there were many different Christological controversies that arose in the past. Some are the following: Apollinaris “believed that Christ was divine but not human. He said humanity is in the fallen condition because of the fallen nature and is at war with itself so we are inevitable sinful. Therefore, he could not believe that Jesus Christ had a real human soul because that would make Him a sinner.” She goes on to say that he emphasized the oneness of Christ’s person but fell into error regarding his solution as to how the Word became flesh in His incarnation. Dr. Meade-Marr goes on to say that the Cappadocians were the defending fathers in the Church who argued and refuted and overturned the Apollinarian teaching. The strength of their refutation is based upon their conception of redemptive purpose. They held that it was essential to Christology for Christ as redeemer to be fully human as well as divine. Another controversy came from Eutyches, who said there were two independent natures before the incarnation but only one nature after. The Logos above and the human nature below. So I seem to have my own position on the matter, even though it seems to be somewhat like Apollinaris view except that I believe He had a real human-like body and divine soul that were sinless in nature! I believe He was completely divine before, during and after the incarnation in body , soul, and spirit!
