GOD IS GOOD!
As we move in our journey with Jesus Christ, Lord God Almighty, we see His goodness and faithfulness in our life! And that He is a good God! That His promises to us never fail because they are in His will! And where we have yielded to His Sprit along the way! And where they are always in His time!
If we have fully understood Who and What God is, we will see Him as the Supreme Being! According to Erickson 1 “In our day, instead of regarding God as our Lord, Whose glory is the Supreme value and Whose will is to be done, we regard Him as our servant. He is expected to meet all of our perceived needs and to answer to our standards of what is right and wrong. We need to learn from Samuel whose response when the Lord called him was, ‘speak, for your servant is listening.’ “
Even so, He is good with both the righteous and the sinner, whether they are believers or not! To the unsaved, if they believe in Him, He will bring them into the Kingdom! To the saved and unsaved He teaches the right way, ‘to go and sin no more’ like the case of the adulteress in Joh 8:10-11. It says “ He said to her, ‘woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned your?’ She said ‘No one Lord’. And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.’ “
He will also visit the marginalized in society, such as those in prison, where the message of salvation is brought! We see this in Matthew 25: 36-45 where Jesus teaches the people that when they visited a prisoner they did in unto Him. And that when they did it unto the least of them , like a prisoner, they did it unto Him! Personally, 15 years into my journey, I taught ESL to Hispanic inmates and as much as I could I would write Scripture on whiteboard regarding the message of salvation, in order for them to translate! It was a very fulfilling time spiritually!
God’s mercy is His tenderhearted, loving compassion for His people. It is His tenderness of heart toward the needy. The psalmist said “ As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:13. God keeps all His promises. As the apostle Paul says: “The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24. Because He is good, He can be trusted and loved!
