ONE SOWS AND ANOTHER REAPS!

“For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps’” John 4:37

Kin was a good friend from college before my coming to Jesus! She was my friend during a bout with a major illness on my last semester! She was a scientist just like me. About this time I had a born-again experience with Jesus! She had her doubts about my faith and when I started attending church I made friends with Linda who was already more mature in the ways of the Lord!

Linda has come to mind lately because two years ago I moved to a condo where I share a common wall with a couple! I have found the lady very dear! At the beginning I thought ‘OMG she is a bossy mama! But I soon realized that she’s really a good friend, who wants to help me! She reminds me of Linda because that’s how I had felt about Linda! And I have more kind thoughts of where Linda was coming from!

Kin immediately took a liking towards Linda’s personality: Linda was able to communicate with her better than me! Linda and I saw the opportunity to talk about the gospel but we had to be kind of underhanded in our preaching: we tried to be Jesus for her as much as we could! She did go to a church concert with us one time!

Kin invited us one time to Mammoth Snow Park to ski: her sister’s friends had given her access to a couple of condos for a coming weekend! We were game about it and we gladly accepted! We had a lot of fun though I fell on the snow much of the time! But Linda and I tried to make Jesus present around Kin and family! I believe they got the hint!

Another time I invited Kin and Linda to Arizona where my brother and wife lived. We came along with my parents! They didn’t believe in Jesus and basically didn’t want to have anything with Him! I let Linda be the communicator as she really had a lot of charisma in mentioning salvation through Jesus Christ! They all liked her and we had to be the church out of the building! Linda, Kin and I had fun, including my family!

I believe Kin has Jesus in her heart as she says ‘Thanks be to God’, very sincerely when I talk to her! The three of us kind of grew apart as Kin and Linda pursued their careers and got married and I moved further north of California. But I keep in touch with Kin over the phone. And she does hear my prayers towards her and hubby when they have ailments. I always tell her I will keep her and family in my prayers. She always asks me about Linda!

I do see Kin looking at both of us like ‘Will they keep their faith through time?’ I know both Linda and me have kept our trust in Jesus, not wavering that He is in our heart! I know I’ve been confused at times but Jesus has been merciful to me and my family! By the way, my brother, wife and my parents all accepted Jesus thru time! We went ‘to all the world making disciples of men’, Matthew 28:19 , while we were sowing the Word and having fun! Mini-mission trips in the name of Jesus!
