THE HUMAN BEING: THE THIRD GENERAL REVELATION OF GOD TO US!

According to Erickson 1”the third locus of general revelation is God’s highest earthly creation, the human.” Human creatures have been given physical structure and mental capacity that are unique , given by a great God! As such they can reason and according to apostle Paul in Romans 2:11-16 it says: “ For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law ( for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thought accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.”

That Scripture tells us we have a moral conscience where we know what’s right and what’s wrong! We know within ourselves , usually, if we are not too dense, that there is a Higher Being who has created us! What is right and what’s wrong we can know: whether we are believers, it is the law in our hearts and also to the believers we have the written Scriptures! The elders and saints of the past had prophets who spoke the Word of God and as such wrote the Word; then there were the disciples and most apostles of Jesus who saw Him face to face via Jesus Christ incarnate!

As I mentioned in the last blog, usually secular history gets blotched on the way to the present, but sacred history has come to us by holy fathers and elders of God, who have scrutinized the writings of the prophets and apostles! We as believers, know the veracity of the sources that brought the New Testament writings! We also through present day archaeology, see the Scriptures of the Old Testament’s veracity. As for example, most recently through the Dead Sea Scrolls found from 1946 to 1956.
