SINS IN THE HEART!

In the New Testament, in the book of Mark, it says the following: “ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, evil eye, blasphemy , pride, foolishness. These defile a man.” Mark 7:21-23.

Such things as hate, covetousness, is what is revolving in the hearts of persons in a daily manner. Then start wars, lack of respect for humanity and racism which leads to genocides! And depravity, adulteries, fornications, is what leads nations to become another, or worse, Sodoms and Gomorrhas! Ungodliness, lack of seeking God with all of our hearts lead to ungodly nations!

According to Erickson 1: “ The emotions (which is mind, heart, and will) also are involved,(where there is any sin):it is amply attested, as for example seen in Romans 1:26-27 where the ungodly are described as being lovers of self and pleasure rather than lovers of God.” And God is patient and waits kindly that people repent but then He can do that for only a time: then He has to judge , bring justice to those that are oppressed!

In Revelation 3:20 it says: ”Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Also in James 4:1-2 it says that ‘You want something but don’t get it! You kill and covet, but you can’t have what you want. You quarrel and fight .’ According to Erickson 2: “ We observe that sin becomes enslaving, leading to more sin. James bears out this observation with his assertion that the sin of covetousness lead to the sins of killing and war.”

You need to turn from your sins, put them at the feet of Jesus and repent. Ask Jesus, believing, to come into your heart to replace all the evil there with the fruit of the Spirit, which is, “love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, goodness, patience, faithfulness, self-control” Galatians 5:22-23. We are to ask the Lord Jesus to search our hearts and know our thoughts and see if there is any wickedness in it in a daily manner. And if you haven’t asked Jesus into your heart yet, just believe in Him so then you will be saved and ask Him to become your Lord!
